Changes to the PB

Okay, this first bit is just something I wanted to mention in passing.  Even though you’re very quiet, we know there are a lot of you here and you come pretty often.  Confession?  There’s a stat counter here and so we know about 1200 of you a day land here.  And some of you stay for quite a while (more than two hours) and come back daily to check in on the happenings.  Go ahead, say something!  we know it seems like we just enjoy talking to ourselves, but we really would love to hear your point of view on whatever.  In my case at least, even if you think this is a bit (or a lot) freaky.  We’re veterans of usenet… you’ll have a hard time offending us, and even if you do we’ll probably still answer you.  Go on.  You don’t even need to put a real email address ( will work).

So onto the changes.  Smallest first.  The links have been redone reflecting that more of us have scene-related sites and so do our partners.  So there’s now a section called "Our Other Sites."  We’ve added a link to Haron and Abel’s new blog, The Spanking Writers, and also one to sparkle’s husband’s site, Chris’ Firehouse.  It’s really cool to get our partners’ perspectives, sometimes on the same subject or scene being discussed here.

Big change?  We’ve added two new (well, new to us) authors to the PB.  They’ll be posting their own introductions sometime in the next month or so (we’re not big on deadlines), but it’s fun to build the anticipation, right?  So here’s an introduction to their introductions!

Dyke Grrl, who some us know from our days on soc.sexuality.spanking, has had her own blog about spanking and life, Breathing In & Breathing Out.  If you want to know more about her, you can either go to her blog and read.  Or wait with breathless anticipation here. In any case, we’re delighted she wanted to join us!

In the interest of diversity and also because she’s witty and a great writer, we’ve added Iris Bloom who we don’t know from our (mostly) beloved newsgroup.  Iris first appeared here in our comments and it was only later that I (see I can almost never keep up the "we" voice for a whole post) realized I knew her partner from years ago adventures at some Shadow Lane parties.  Iris was the author of the BDSM survey (Mija’s answers are here) that seems to have become a small meme.  If you want to know more about Iris, well, she has no blog that I know of so you’re just going to have to wait until she shows herself.  I know I’m excited!

And so there you are.  Change is good.

Yes…change is good! I will freely admit I check for updates everyday, but never post anything! I’ll try and change that…really, I will!

I have been very impressed with the quality of the writing and moved and encouraged by the
experiences here, I am sure that I am among many “lurkers” who may not have anything interesting to say.
Still trying to come to terms with the implications of my kink, I have an almost entirely vanilla existence.
I respond to your invitation to say that at a play or a concert, or veen for the written word, somebody must fill the role of “audience”
Splendid and encouraging sites – thank you

I delurked a little while ago… I almost posted on Mija’s splenda post… but all I had to say was a suggestion to try stevia and I didn’t want to sound like a commercial. I found your site by accident looking for Tasha’s fiction site (which she hasn’t updated in FOREVER *sigh*) and got hooked.

We’ve had some trouble this afternoon with anonymous comment-posting. (Because Mija went and bragged about it, I think.)
Anyway, *crosses fingers* it should be fixed now.
    Thanks for you patience!

Thanks for the welcome, and I’m really looking forward to getting to post with the neat-o women here.
And thanks for fixing the comments–I tried a few times yesterday, and even when it let me publish a post, it wouldn’t let me post a comment.

Well, as Winston Churchill said, “There is nothing wrong with change, if it is in the right direction.” And these definitely seem to be in the right direction.
And I’m not just saying that because you linked my blog. But thank you for that.

I’ll admit to being a lurker here. 🙂 I am trying to remember how I found your site recently. Anyways I remember a few of you from A.S.S and Soc.Sexuality.Spanking and IRC but I haven’t posted or read there in a long time and was never really a big poster more of a lurker anyways. 🙂
I can relate to a lot of Sparkles comments about not sleeping since we have a young daughter also and I know how tough it can be. It’s also hard to find the time to play, but lately we’ve been able to get back into the swing of things a bit. I thought I lost my interest for a while, but I don’t think it was lost I was just having a hard time settling things in my mind once I became a mom.
I love reading all your stories and seeing how you’ve work this into your relationships. We’ve been married for 6yrs sometimes I feel we are still trying to find the right balance with this kink in our relationship, but we are very happy.
    Just thought I’d say Hello.

    Hey everybody!
Yes, I too am one of those who comes to the PB almost daily but don’t post….guess I needed a more specific invitation. Love it, love it, and will be posting from now on. It’s so great to see everybody from the old newsgroup!
Just a quick update on myself since my last “appearance” – had an amazing romantic/discipline relationship with a tall wealthy British guy; we then broke up, which broke my heart….immediately whisked off to Texas for a possible GA position for my Ph.D., which I ultimately refused; came back home, got very very sick for about two years, and am now working part-time and working on getting better.

Oh wow! What an amazing discovery this is for me. SO much like how I am and I didn’t realise there were others like me! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences! Janey (UK)

    Welcome, Janie!
Glad you found PB–it’s a pretty cool discovery when you realize that there *are* others like you, isn’t it? Enjoy yourself and be sure to leave lots of comments! 🙂
